Douglas Staiger, Ph.D.
Dr. Douglas Staiger is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Dartmouth College. From 1992-1998 he was a Professor at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Also, since 1998 he has been a Research Associate for the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research interests include Health Economics, Labor Economics, Economics of Education, and Applied Econometrics. Dr. Staiger graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT and he received his Bachelors in Economics and Mathematics from Williams College graduating as magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kapa. He has published extensively in the fields of health and labor economics as well as the economics of education. He has served as an Associate Editor for distinguished journals such as Journal of Business and Economic Statistics and the Journal of Health Economics. He is currently working on a book manuscript “The Future of Nursing” with Peter Buerhaus.
