Bradford H. Gray, Ph.D.
Bradford H. Gray is a Senior Fellow at the Urban Institute in Washington DC and editor of The Milbank Quarterly. He is also senior advisor to the Harkness Fellowship program of the Commonwealth Fund. He previously founded and directed the Division of Health and Science Policy at the New York Academy of Medicine. Earlier at Yale University, he directed the Program on Nonprofit Organizations (PONPO) and the Institution for Social and Policy Studies, and was a faculty member in health policy in Dept. of Epidemiology and Public Health. He earlier spent ten years as a study director at the Institute of Medicine and as a staff member for two national bioethics commissions. He has written extensively about for-profit and nonprofit health care and has also done research on Medicaid, managed care, ethical issues in research, racial disparities in health care, and the politics of health services research. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Yale University. He is a fellow of The Hastings Center and AcademyHealth and is a member of the Institute of Medicine.
